MIRRORS AND WINDOWS
This series is a natural evolution of my Obliteration series. It's title was inspired by something I read in the book, Art & Fear by David Bayles and Ted Orland. They talked about an exhibition with this title curated by John Szarkowski at the MOMA. The curator's "premise was that some artists view the world as if looking through a window at things happening 'out there', while others view the world as if looking in a mirror at a world inside of themselves."* However, while working on this series I was both, the artist looking to the world around me through the window and the one looking inwards as through a mirror as I reflected on my emotions.
